SAA treasurer Cynthia Stimpel has been suspended for “misconduct”, after she raised questions about the deal with BnP, which the airline was paying three times more than necessary.

To no surprise, the South African Airways chairperson is very closely linked to the South African president, Jacob Zuma. She also serves as the chairwoman of the Jacob Zuma Foundation.

If you can remember, it was speculated that former finance minister Nhlanhla Nene was fired due to his conflict over the SAA chairperson (aka: Jacob Zuma’s friend)
